From At-Risk to Empowered —

One Girl at a Time

In Uganda, girls are being pulled out of school and forced into early marriage. The Geaux Foundation interrupts that cycle by providing safe housing, hands-on training, and gospel-centered mentorship.

Girls in Uganda Are Being Traded Away

In many parts of Uganda, girls as young as 13 are pulled out of school and married off for food, money, or survival.

Education isn’t free — and when families run out of options, girls become the currency. Most will never return to school. Many will live as third or fourth wives in polygamous homes, forgotten and voiceless.

“I watched girls disappear from school, married off before they even had a chance to dream. I knew God was calling me to step in — to give them what I was given: hope and a future.”

— Peace Daniel, Founder of the Geaux Foundation

The Geaux Foundation exists to stop that story before it starts.

Shelter Her

A safe home away from harm

We provide immediate housing, food, and basic care to girls who are at risk of being sold into early marriage or forced out of school due to poverty.

Disciple Her

Faith, identity, and healing

We provide safe housing, daily meals, and a supportive environment where each girl can begin to recover from the trauma of poverty and abandonment.

Launch Her

Skills for life and livelihood

We equip girls with practical training in sewing, hair braiding, and small business so they can support themselves, serve their communities, and change their families’ future.

Skills That Empower

She Doesn’t Just Learn to Survive — She Learns to Build a Life

Every girl in our care receives hands-on training in real, income-generating skills that can support her — and her family — for years to come. These are not hobbies. These are tools for transformation.

Our 6-month residential program equips girls with the training they need to launch micro-businesses, join local shops, or serve their communities — all while walking in confidence and purpose.

These aren’t just skills — they’re stepping stones to freedom.

Meet Our Founder: Peace Daniel

I’m Peace Daniel, the founder and President of the Geaux Foundation. In 2021, while deep in prayer, I felt a clear and powerful call: to step into the gap for young girls whose dreams had been cut short by poverty. That divine moment set in motion the journey that would become the Geaux Foundation.

A Mission Rooted in Personal Experience

I was born and raised in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. During school breaks, my mother would send me to visit my grandmother in the village. It was there—in the heart of rural Uganda—that I began to witness the heartbreaking reality faced by many young girls. My childhood friends, full of potential, were married off far too young. Some became mothers as children themselves, and their futures slipped away before they had even begun.

I couldn’t forget them. I didn’t want to. Their stories became my mission.

Why Geaux Exists

The Geaux Foundation is committed to restoring hope for teenage girls who have been forced to abandon their education due to poverty. Our mission is to shelter, disciple, and launch each girl—equipping her with practical life skills and the unwavering love of Jesus Christ.

We exist to disrupt the cycle of poverty and early marriage by offering a different path: one rooted in faith, education, and empowerment. By providing hands-on vocational training, mentorship, and spiritual guidance, we are building a new future—one girl at a time.

From Vision to Reality

What began as a whisper from God has become a growing movement. We are reaching into the deep villages of Uganda, where girls are too often seen as a burden or a bride, and we are planting seeds of hope. At Geaux, every girl is seen, known, and reminded that she is worthy—worthy of education, of love, and of a life filled with purpose.

Join the Journey

I invite you to walk with us. Whether through prayer, partnership, or financial support, you have a role to play in this redemptive story. Together, we can create a world where every girl has the chance to flourish, to discover her purpose, and to rise up as a beacon of hope in her community.

From my heart to yours,

Meet Betty Nakisita –Director of the GEAUX Foundation in Uganda

Early life marked by loss and resilience

Born in March of 1955 and the second of eight children, Betty Nakisita grew up accustomed to hardship. As a young woman she lost her first husband and suddenly found herself responsible for four small children – the eldest just seven and the youngest, a newborn named Peace Daniel. In her grief, she endured further pain when relatives blamed her for her husband’s death and took all of her children except the infant. Only months later her father was murdered, compounding her sorrow.

Betty eventually remarried and had four more children. Tragically, her second husband also died, leaving her with five young children and no means of support. To keep her family alive she reluctantly entrusted two of her children to her in-laws. She and her remaining child moved from one abandoned house to another, sometimes going days without a decent meal.

A heart that never stopped giving

Despite enduring extreme poverty and personal loss, Betty’s compassion for others never dimmed. Wherever she lived, she invited young girls from nearby villages to share her home. She taught them whatever skills she knew, shared her meager food and always reminded them that someone else was worse off than she was. Though she never held a steady job or built a successful business, Betty quietly mentored and nurtured girls one by one for decades. Without realizing it, she was living out a calling that would eventually transform many lives.

Living her dream through the Geaux Foundation

In 2021, Peace Daniel – Betty’s youngest child – founded the Geaux Foundation with a mission to empower teenage girls in East Africa who have been forced to leave school because of poverty. The foundation provides education and skills training so that girls can support themselves and regain a sense of purpose. This focus is critically important in Uganda, where far fewer girls than boys attend secondary school and early marriage often ends a girl’s education. Research shows that combining life-skills training with vocational training can reduce the incentive for adolescent girls to marry early and improves their economic empowerment.

For Betty, the launch of the Geaux Foundation was the realization of a lifelong dream. In her “golden years” she found new purpose and joy working with an organization that formalizes the very work she has always done – rescuing girls from poverty, teaching them valuable skills and showing them the love of Christ. Today she is strong, radiant and a mother to many, not just by blood but by love.

A message of gratitude and hope

To everyone who supports the Geaux foundation: thank you. Your partnership does more than fund a program; it helps a woman fulfill her lifelong mission and gives hope to girls who once faced a future of poverty and early marriage. Betty’s journey reminds us that it is never too late for God to move. No matter your age or your past, if you still have breath, you still have purpose. Betty Nakisita is living proof.

Your YES can be the beginning of HER new life.
